THOMAS P. CARROLL - CROWE PAVILION EXPANSION

Guymer Bailey Architects were engaged by the City of Great Dandenong to design the refurbishment of the Crowe Sporting Pavilion, function space and site amenities at Box Road in Dandenong to facilitate growing demand.

The renovation of the existing pavilion included improvements to existing shower and toilet facilities and upgrades to change room capacity, umpire amenities, medical storage and kitchen facilities. Design works also included expansions to the Pavilion’s function room with large capacity bar facilities and full glazing between football and cricket grounds for spectating.

Site and landscaping modifications included new carpark bays, tree spaces, social spaces and a new children’s playground. In keeping with the City of Greater Dandenong’s Sustainable Building Policy, the Pavilion had a strong ESD focus, featuring passive ventilation to the majority of the design and a minimal carbon footprint.
