PAKENHAM HILLS PRIMARY SCHOOL
Guymer Bailey were engaged to design the Pakenham Hills Primary School’s ParentZone Building, a collaborative project between the school, local council and the community program offered by Anglicare. The ParentZone Building is the first of its kind that has been integrated into a primary school to allow parents and the community better access to the ParentZone support program.
The design includes several comfortable consultation rooms to be used for the support program as well as flexible spaces for the community to use. The ParentZone Building also provides two large light-filled classrooms for the school that are designed to be closed off from community areas during school hours. To ensure flexibility of the space and cater for large events, one classroom can be opened up for community use after hours.
A new carpark and accessible ramp has been added to allow for equitable access to the new building and the existing multi-purpose hall to the south. The ParentZone building, which replaced an old relocatable building, sits comfortably on the contouring site with the landscape designed by our in-house landscape architecture team enhanced by the mature trees that we were able to retain.
